Maria’s 2014 season couldn’t have got off to a better start – a win on the long race at Rowhedge regatta.
After crossing the start line first, Maria gradually pulled away on the dead run to Colne Bar, despite sailing a into few holes that allowed Alberta, Sunbeam, My Alice and Charlotte Ellen to gain a little.
Making Colne Bar first gave Maria the advantage of the flood tide to Bench Head, and she opened up a commanding lead that was never challenged.
The new sails – main, foresail and topsail – were looking good and working well.
The next race from Bateman’s Tower to Rowhedge was a nail-biter – see this link for more.
